About the Camp
This camp is for advanced-beginners and intermediate players (see the Instructors page for definitions) who want to improve their instrumental or vocal skills and work on jamming with others.
Camp starts Sunday with registration and some of our best introductory classes, and continues that evening with dinner, staff introductions, questions and answers, jamming, and a first-night dance. Monday through Wednesday will include classes each day with instrumental and vocal instructors (about ten students per teacher for these classes), jam group classes, and elective classes--including more instrumental choices, vocal harmonies, clogging, music theory, songwriting, and more. Evening activities include staff and student concerts, an old time dance, and lots of jamming. Wednesday evening there will be a post-camp/pre-festival concert and workshops.
Meals tickets for delicious catered meals from Blue Sun Catering are available and cover 3 meals a day from Sunday dinner to Wednesday lunch.
The cost of the camp, meals, tenting, and so on can be found on the registration forms (see links to them here); the prices go up after May 1st (if there are any spaces left at that time—don't count on it!)
On-site tent camping is available for a small additional fee. On-site RV camping is available through the CBA RV camping site.
ALL PRICES GO UP AFTER MAY 1ST!
Most classes will likely be full by then, but this goes also for last minute additions to camping, meals, etc.
Scholarships are available for those who need them (see FAQ page for details). We are especially grateful to all our scholarship donors for making this possible—thank you all!!
We also offer a special class called Fungrass for children or siblings of campers, who are not yet ready for camp, but interested in music, arts and crafts, and fun. See the Instructors page for more information.
Registration at the CBA Summer Music Camp entitles you to a 10% discount on a 4-day festival pass for the Father's Day Weekend Festival. To get this discount, buy your 4-day pass on site after you've checked in for camp. Note that there is also an early-bird discount available for festival tickets that is usually an even better deal!
This is a popular camp—registration opens February 7th, and some classes fill on the first day.
The class you want may not fill in the first day or two, but why take chances?
For best choice of classes, early registration is strongly advised!
